HAZE went up to 'Hazardous Range' in Singapore!!!

On 19 Jun 2013, 1pm, the PSI was 152. This photo taken while I was having lunch at Marina Bay Sands. You can hardly see Esplanade from the photo right.  Not only that, the acrid smell of burnt wood pervaded the island-state.

On 19 Jun 2013, 10pm, the PSI went up to a "Hazardous" level of 321!
It was by far the highest since 1997 in Singapore.
I have never seen Singapore in this bad state before.
The NEA said it had alerted its Indonesian counterpart on the situation "and urged the Indonesian authorities to look into urgent measures to mitigate the transboundary haze occurrence".

Seriously who is to blame for the HAZE?
The Indonesian? Maybe not...
Ministry official Hadi Daryanto attempted to shift some of the blame onto Malaysia and Singapore, saying their palm oil companies that had invested in Indonesia were also responsible.

Well whoever had caused this, I hope they can spare a thought for others, I believe their family and friend or even themselves are affected by this. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day and no more haze. I wanted to buy mask earlier at Jurong Jem but they already sold out. The staffs said it was sold out since afternoon and they are ordering more.  I hope all of you manage to get your mask.

My advice is to stay in an aircon place this period and cut down on outdoor activities.
Drink more water too.

Stay tuned to
http://app2.nea.gov.sg/anti-pollution-radiation-protection/air-pollution/psi/psi-and-pm2-5-readings for more update on the HAZE Condition!

Me: "Mummy, why all my towel got HAZY smell?"
Mum: "Ya because I hanged the towel outside the HAZE smell got into the towel!!!

Maybe we should all start to hang our laundry inside for this few days.... =p

BIKE PARKING THAT SUCKS YOUR TWO-WHEELER UNDERGROUND!

Bicycle had always been a popular alternative mode of transport while the issue of storage is always a concern. Well the location, availability and safety are always are something a bicycle owner will worry about.

But what if there is a underground storage place  which is safe from now on? A more creative solution comes out of Japan – the Eco Cycle Anti-Seismic Underground Bicycle Park. Instead of the need for huge slabs of concrete and open space, it stores your bike vertically underground. Built by Japanese engineering firm Giken Seisakusho Co. LTD, the underground bike parking is just seven meters wide, but deep enough to store 144 bicycles. The storage facility is also strong enough to withstand earthquakes, which should put your mind at ease when it comes to thieves.

And it's so easy to access your bike, you just have to enter a pincode specific to you. The underground spiral on which your bike is stored, will then maneuver your emission-free vehicle it to the street-level, allowing you to ride off happily into the sunset.

Looking forward to see this in Singapore.
Well it is  Eco-friendly because by keeping your bicycle underground, you reduce the chances of people stealing and you replacing a new one. And further more, by parking it in the underground, your bicycle are not expose to the sun or rain which will damage your bicycle too. Thus  making your bicycle life span longer too.

Transforming my old t-shirt into a useful Eco-friendly T-Shirt Bag!!!

Wanna check out how you too can go Eco too?
Scroll down and find out how I transformed my
old t-shirts into T-Shirt Bag, T-Shirt Coasters and unwanted socks into a Sock Pouch!

Just few day back, I was at a Eco Crafts Workshop organized by Panasonic & Omy.sg.
The workshop was held at City Square Mall, an Eco-friendly mall.

Do you know that City Square Mall is the first mall in Singapore to be integrated with an urban park. Named City Green, the 49,000 square feet park is like a green carpet laid out in front of the mall to welcome visitors. Filled with numerous wonderful surprises, City Green is designed to provide a learning experience about ecology and the natural environment.

So that's answer to why the organizers chose this place for the Eco Craft Workshop.

Beside me, there were also many other people who was there at the workdshop to learn some Eco-craft skills. I also spotted many parent bringing their kids there too!

I'm sure the kids learn some great skills and knowledge on how they can go Eco-friendly through the workshop too!

Ok... That's me working on the my 1st T-shirt Bag! =)

I tied a knot with some cloth which was cut out from my t-shirt to secure the base of the bag.

So after trying so many crabs, I personally like the Nonya Crab and the Tang Gui one!
It was something new to me. Cause I usually like to play safe and only order the Chilli or Salted Egg Crab.
But over here it is different! Cause it is EAT ALL YOU CAN BUFFET! So you can take a bit of every thing to try and see which is your favorite type of crabs!

The Nonya Crab is something unique and tasty. As for the Crab with Tang Gui also something unique, you can taste the hearbal taste in the crab meat. So I guess it must have been brewed for very long to achieve such taste.

Hurry down to Plaza Brasserie at PARKROYAL on Beach Road today!
